The Nature and Development Foundation (NDF) is set to implement a digital security outreach program designed to empower Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in the Western North Region of Ghana. Starting in July, this initiative seeks to equip CBOs with essential skills and knowledge to protect their digital assets effectively.
This initiative, which emerged from a proposal written by NDF following a digital security and resilience workshop in February organized by the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), aims to foster a culture of digital security among CBOs in the region.
The community outreach initiative has clear objectives: to raise awareness about digital security, develop participants’ knowledge, and strengthen their capacity through workshops. It also aims to equip individuals with techniques to identify and respond to potential digital threats and provide continuous support with new tools and ideas.
Planned activities include facilitating focus group sessions, organizing two-day workshops on cybersecurity and data protection, establishing a WhatsApp platform for ongoing support, and implementing a monitoring and evaluation framework.
This initiative is implemented with support from the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) and the Mott Foundation. By enhancing digital security awareness and capabilities, NDF aims to create a more resilient and secure digital environment for CBOs in Ghana.
